Lunacy VI (200 Words)
Josaaph Heath Gwalthney strapped herself onto the G-Forces Simulator. "We might as well get this over with," she said, wincing. Every single day, for the past week, she had been strapped on to this stupid thing, and it had made her sick each and every time. She would never be able to go into space for next year's National Novel Writing Month, at this rate.
"Are you sure that you really want to do this, Miss Gwalthney?" August Mir asked, scratching his thinning, mustard-color hair. Watching him, Josaaph felt pretty sure that she knew how he was losing his hair, now--it had all come off in the fingernails.
"I have to," she said. She looked around the ops and then sighed. "I don't want to be just another face in the NaNo crowd, I want to stand out in some way. This would even get me into Guinness, too, if I play my cards right. I will be the first person to write the first draft of my novel, in orbit, around Mars. It might take a little longer, but I can tell the guys later. It will take me longer to get to Mars than one year, my dear.".
